Akron’s Springfield Lake community pulls out all the stops for its three-day Rock the Docks festival. The family-friendly event features food, rides, multiple stages of music, a kids’ craft tent, an appearance by the Rubber Ducks mascot, ice cream making, a wing-eating contest, a petting zoo, a dunk tank, face painting and free pontoon boat rides. On Saturday morning before the festival kicks off, there’s a pancake breakfast and the Rock the Run for muscular dystrophy. And on Saturday night at 9:45PM, there’ll be a fireworks display over the lake.
It’s free, except for the rides. Ride wristbands range from $12-$20 depending on when you come and how long you stay.
