North Union Farmers Markets @NUFarmersMarket Open for the Outdoor Season

NorthUnion

Sat 4/2 @ 8AM-noon

We’re really only weeks away from the full-blown farmers market season with its profusion of wonderful locally grown and produced goodies. The North Union markets at Shaker Square and Crocker Park have been running indoors all winter, of course, but this week they start the move outside.

The Shaker Square Market comes out first, opening this weekend. As usual, it will open with the blessing of the farms and farmers, followed by sheep-shearing demonstrations as the wooly creatures are divested of their winter coats. Sheepshearer Geoff Baldwin will tell stories while he shears his sheep.

Jerry Popiel will provide live music and there’ll be a breakfast sampling featuring the Frittata Project. Meanwhile, shoppings can bask in the array of local foodstuffs including meat, dairy, bakery and local produce, which will increase in quantity weekly, as well as handmade local craft items and personal care productions.

North Union’s Crocker Park outdoor market opens next Saturday 4/9 @ 9am-1pm.
