The @OberlinCollege Conservatory & @BopStopTMS Launch Music Series

Michael Os

Thu 2/25 @ 8PM

The Bop Stop is launching a new music series it’s co-producing with Oberlin Conservatory, a hotbed of talented young players. For instance, the debut event features a former trio called Michael O’s to the Max, formed at the Oberlin Conservatory at the beginning of the school year, a mere six months ago. Yet they’ll have already performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. days before their BOP STOP Show. They play both original compositions and their own arrangements of old standards.

Why are they a “former trio”? Original members Michael Orenstein on piano, Michael Ode on drums and Max Weiner on bass — you see where the odd name comes from? — have now been joined by Oberlin sax player Nathan Rice. We don’t know yet how his name will be worked into the group’s. Tickets for the show are $10.
