Irish Sundays Bring the Auld Sod’s Music and Dance to @MusicBoxCle

Irish

Sun 1/3 @ 3PM

The Music Box Supper Club’s Irish Sundays give the club an opportunity to showcase Cleveland’s teeming stock of Irish bands such as the Kilroys, who perform today. The band of five brothers and two sisters has been playing for around 25 years, both in Cleveland and around the region, at clubs and festivals such as Cleveland’s annual summer Irish festival. The group blends rock instruments with traditional Celtic ones such as fiddle, ulliean pipes and bagpipes.

But the Irish Sundays are about more than sitting and listening to music; you’re invited to get up and dance. The Cleveland Ceili Club offers free dance lessons at 3:30 prior to the band’s performance, which are open to all. And because of the early time, these events are family-friendly. So if your little girl dreams of having “feet of flame,” bring her down.

There will also be food and drink specials and “the game will be on TV,” they say. But don’t ask us what that means. We have no idea what “game” that refers to. Irish Sundays are free; doors open at 3pm.
