Buoyancy, the Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory’s last gallery show of the year, addresses the theme of water and swimming in the work of two artists, Aimee Lee and Kristen Martincic.
Both grew up around water — Martincic in Cleveland, Lee along New York’s Hudson River — and it has played an influential role in their work. Both ground their work in different forms of Asian papermaking (Lee led the launch of Morgan’s eastern Paper studio last year), which they use to create prints, mixed-media work and three-dimensional objects.
The show opens with a reception Thu 10/15 from 6-9pm, with an artist talk by both artists at 6pm. It runs through Sat 12/5. It’s free.
