It’s time again for the Countryside Conservancy of Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s monthly food swap, occurring on the third Tuesday of each month.
Each registrant brings homegrown or homemade items — produce grown in their garden garden, baked goods, jams or salsas made in their kitchen. The other participants then bid silent auction-style, but offering items in trade rather than dollars. The swaps let people sample foodstuffs grown/produced by other local people as trade growing and processing tips, and get to know others who are also into local food.
Each two-hour swap features a preparatory half hour, an hour for bidding, and a half hour to finalize the swaps. It’s free but you must register. It takes place at the Ledges Shelter in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
