Moya Brennan is one of the grand dames of Celtic music. Her longtime family band Clannad, formed in 1970 when she was only 18, set the standard for wide-ranging Celtic-based musical explorations. Her solo career has been even more expansive but never straying too far from her roots in her native Ireland. She’s done as much to define the now-ubiquitous Irish music genre.
She’ll be bringing her Irish Christmas program to Nighttown where she’ll perform Celtic versions of Christmas carols along with hr own music and Clannad’s, with a five-piece band that includes harp virtuoso Cormac DeBarra.
