Cleveland Soul Singer Antoine Dunn Performs at Nighttown

Fri 8/15 @ 8 & 10PM

Cleveland native Antoine Dunn released his debut album Truth of the Matter on SONY in 2012. The self-penned, self-produced album was executive produced by the late Gerald Levert’s writing partner Tony Nicholas, whose experience with Levert’s richly romantic, gospel-influenced vocals was a perfect fit for Dunn.

And while he didn’t become an instant star, the R&B singer, who is influenced by the classic soul artists like Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Donnie Hathaway, as well as more contemporary performers like Adele and Alice Keys, has slowly been attracting attention. His major label release turned out to be a one-off, but he’s back in his hometown, writing and recording songs like “I Am,” a tribute to his mother who died of breast cancer in 2011.

He’s performing two shows at Nighttown at an eight-piece band. Its sure to be a sensual soul revue.

Tickets are $25.
