Atlanta-based rapper Waka Flocka Flame burst on the scene five years ago with his first hit “O Let’s Do It,” followed in 2010 by his debut album Flockaveli. Before that he was part of the camp of rapper Gucci Mane, with whom he’s now feuding, of course, over … something.
Since then, he’s racked up more hits, including top 20 hit “No Hands,” and a couple more albums, to be followed some by Flockaveli 2, which will supposedly feature rappers Drake and Nellie and have more of an EDM influence. But you know how these things can change.
What’s for sure is that he’s currently out on his “Return of Flocka” tour. The opening act is Canadian rapper Peter Jackson, who released a single “Havana” late last year featuring Waka Flocka.
It arrives at the Kent Stage this week.
Tickets are 30-$75.
