The Moscow-based State Symphony Capella of Russia made its Cleveland debut three years ago at the Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus.
That performance was sponsored by the Cleveland Museum of Art, which is now bringing the fifty-member mixed-voice chorus, conducted by Valery Polyansky, back to perform in its own atrium, which didn’t even exist three years ago.
It’s part of the museum’s Mother and Child series, and the 7:30 pre-concert talk by Case Western Reserve associate professor of music David J. Rothenberg, will deal with Marian music. So presumably the program will feature music relating to Jesus’ nativity in the spirit of the season.
Tickets are $33–$51.
