Burgers! Hot Dogs! Fries! Malts! Shakes! All served at your car window!
It could be the ’50s again and indeed, Swenson’s Drive-In in Akron has been around that long, long actually, since it opened in the ’40s. The retro eatery now has six locations in northeast Ohio where you can chow down like it’s 1959 on the type of food that comes in a plastic basket. You’ll want to top it all off with a hot fudge sundae. This place won’t break the family budget either; a grilled cheese sandwich doesn’t crack a two bucks fifty and burgers top out at $4.50 for the half-pounder. The fun ambiance is included in the price. And on weekends, you can quell those hunger pangs until 1:30am.
