The city of Cleveland Heights teems with creative types — visual artists, actors, dancers, writers and of course, musicians. They range from high school kids partaking of Cleveland Heights-University Heights High Schools renowned music programs to members of the Cleveland Orchestra to punk bands to folksingers.
Want to learn who some of them are and why they are in Cleveland Heights?
FutureHeights, Friends of Heights Libraries and Reaching Heights are presenting a program called Welcome Home: Heights Musicians at Rockefeller’s Restaurant.
Musician/journalist/publicist David Budin (a member of retro ’60s folk ensemble Long Road) will host a panel that features Cleveland Orchestra bassist Scott Haigh, Cleveland Orchestra violinist Beth Woodside, singer-songwriter Charlie Mosbrook (pictured), Willie J. Wright of the Wright Family Singers and mandolin player Brendan O’Malley for newgrass band Honeybucket.
There’ll be free munchies and a cash bar as well as community groups with information on the city’s businesses, schools and organizations.
It’s free and open to all. RSVP online or send an e-mail to info@futureheights.org, or call the FutureHeights office at 216-320-1423.
