It’s always a pleasure to have another opportunity to hear Marti Jones & Don Dixon — and if you never have, you should.

Jones, a northeast Ohio native, met Dixon, a respected producer out of the Carolinas who worked with the likes of R.E.M., when she was in Canton new wave/pop band Color Me Gone, whose 1983 EP he produced. The band soon broke up but Jones and Dixon didn’t. They married, settled in Canton, and have produced many wonderful pop/rock albums over the years. Dixon released High & Filthy & Borderline in 2013, and Jones came out with You’re Not The Bossa Me last year. With their vast repertoire of memorable pop tunes, the intuitive harmonies and the bantering onstage interplay, their shows are delightful.

They were tapped to do a short series of dates with elusive British folkie John Armatrading, including her recent Kent Stage show. But they’re back in town at the Music Box Supper Club for what they’re calling their “One Song From Each Album” show. That will easily fill an entire evening — both released their first solo albums in 1985.

And just like the last time they played the Music Box, they’ll be joined by Cleveland music scene mainstay Chris Allen, who just released a new album Everything Changes But the Rodeo, late last year.

Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door.
