Laura Varcho has been singing pop and jazz around Cleveland for years. Akron’s Tracey Thomas mde her mark in the local music scene back in the early ’80s with popular area new wave rockers Unit 5. In the last few years, she’s found her voice in country and jazz, with an affinity for the music of Billie Holiday. Both Varcho and Thomas are stellar vocalists always worth hearing.
The pair will be co-hosting a night of caroling at the Secret Cellar in Kent, where they’ll be putting people in a festive mood and even inviting listeners to sing along.
The show is free, but it’s also a benefit for the Akron-Canton Food Bank so bring a nonperishable food item if you can. There’ll also be a raffle to buy new toys for the Toys for Tots program.
