Columbus-based Red Wanting Blue are very familiar faces in Cleveland. Over the course of their 18-year career and ten albums — including this year’s Little America — the mainstream rockers have been in northeast Ohio dozens of times, building a fan base among those who embrace bands like O.A.R, Train and Collective Soul.

What isn’t familiar to rock fans is the venue they’ll be playing on their next visit. They’re kicking off a new concert series called Cathedral Concerts, taking place at Trinity Cathedral across from the Cleveland State campus. It’s the first contemporary concert ever held at Trinity, although it has been the setting for numerous classical concerts and a few jazz and folk concerts as well.

More concerts will be announced. We’ve already heard that Bruce Hornsby will perform there next year. So keep an eye out and keep checking back. Several of the concerts will be taped for television broadcast on PBS stations across Ohio as well.

Tickets are $30 if there are any left.
