Some Irish music bands have been around so long they barely have any original members. But this engaging music attracts new talent all the time.
The young trio Socks in the Frying Pan, featuring accordionist Shane Hayes, his brother Fiachra Hayes on fiddle and banjo, and Aodán Coyne on guitar and lead vocals, have been performing their updated traditional acoustic music around Ireland for several years, embellished with their contemporary influences and their roof-rising three-part harmonies. But they’re just making themselves known in the U.S. since the release of their self-titled debut album late last year.
They’re currently in the midst of their first U.S. tour, and it’ll be making a northeast Ohio stop at Happy Days Lodge at Cuyahoga Valley National Park as part of its heritage concert series.
Tickets are $17, $12 for Conservancy members, and $5 for kids ages 3-12.
