“Doowutchalike” Brings 75 Diverse Artists Together at Graffiti HeArt

Sat 5/11 @ 5-9PM

Cleveland artist Bob Peck honed his skills as a graffiti artist before moving on to create canvases and murals in an abstract style influenced by his former street-art proclivities. He’s long been an active presence at Graffiti HeArt, the nonprofit founded to boost street style artists through scholarships for young artists and connecting experienced artists with paying work. His personal trajectory and the organization’s mission dovetail perfectly.

Now he’s taken the reins to curate a huge, only-night-only show there called Doowutchalike, described as “an eclectic and exhilarating art show that promises to push the boundaries of artistic expression.”

A couple of months ago, he put out a call for artists in all styles and mediums “from captivating portraits to breathtaking landscapes, thought-provoking abstracts, mesmerizing photography, awe-inspiring sculptures and everything in between,” cramming in as many as possible on the fortunately rather expansive walls of Graffiti HeArt’s space in the Superior-St. Clair neighborhood. The work of more than 75 artists will be on display, from some well-known local artists to those you’ve likely never who could be your next big discovery.

In addition, the artists will be present to talk about and sell their work. It’s a great chance to get to know the creators, learn more about them and their creative process, and perhaps become a collector of their work if it speaks to you.

Admission is free.
