It doesn’t get as much hype as MLK Day but Monday February 19, President’s Day, is also a national holiday when schools are closed — and many area museums that are typically closed on Monday are open.

Among the open museums are the Cleveland Botanic Garden, which will be open from 10am-5pm, an extra opportunity to see its current Orchid Show as well as all the regular attractions such as its glasshouses.

The Cleveland History Center at the Western Reserve Historical Society will be open from 11am-4pm with several special programs including a live portrayal of Victoria Woodhall who ran for president in 1872, nearly 50 years before women could even vote; storytime with Kelia Dawson, sharing a book about how young people are working to make a better world; a visit from an Abraham Lincoln impersonator; and a crafts table to make your own campaign button.

Regular admission applies.
