Three NE Ohio Artists Talk About Their Work on View at the Akron Art Museum

Work by Dragana Crnjak

Thu 4/12 @ 6:30PM

The three northeast Ohio artists who comprise the current Akron Art Museum exhibit Frameworks, “approach painting as a process of inquiry into the way we understand time and space,” says the museum’s statement about the show.

“The artists are particularly interested in the concept of time being fluid rather than linear. That fluidity is easily illustrated in our digital age — time can be visually compressed, drawn out and even layered. Interwoven into that equation is how memory becomes clouded or fragmented over time.”

If you’d like to know more about how the artists — Dragana Crnjak, Andrea Joki and Matthew Kolodziej — realize this concept in their work, come down to the museum this Thursday evening where the trio will be talking about the influences, themes and processes in a free gallery talk.
