Brews + Prose at Market Garden Brewery Hosts Local Poet and Brooklyn Author

Tue 4/3 @ 7PM

It’s National Poetry Month, but Brews + Prose, which takes place every month at the Market Garden Brewery, needs no excuse to present a couple of poets.

For its 70th consecutive monthly reading session there, it will be hosting veteran local poet George Bilgere and Brooklyn poet Meghan O’Rourke.

Cleveland poetry lovers are familiar with 66-year-old Bilgere, who reaches at John Carroll University and hosts a poetry program on its radio station WJCU. He’s published six collections of poetry and has had his work appear in countless magazines and anthologies.

O’Rourke, a generation younger at 42, is a former fiction editor at The New Yorker, and writes both nonfiction and poetry. She’s put out two collections of her poetry, in addition to a memoir about her mother’s death.

The evening is free, and food and drink will be available for purchase, along with the authors’ books.
