One of the not-so-good impacts of last year’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland (yeah, I know – there were many) was the exile of the Alternative Press Music Awards to Columbus for its third year since the facilities it needed were unavailable.
The event is returning home to Cleveland for its fourth year, taking place in the city where the music magazine was founded in the late 80s and is still based. It will take place Mon 7/17 and be hosted by Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack. The full lineup and venue have yet to be announced (it was at Quicken Loans Arena in 2015 and at the Rock Hall for its debut in 2014) but the evening always features a star-studded lineup of contemporary alternative/pop/rock performers such as Machine Gun Kelly, Panic! At the Disco, Taking Back Sunday, Twenty One Pilots and Fall Out Boy, along with such legacy performers as Ice-T, Marilyn Manson, Slash and Rob Halford of Judas Priest.
