Storytelling Events @ Happy Dog & Collinwood Library Invite People to Share Cleveland Stories

Wed 9/4 @ 8PM

Mon 9/9 @ 5:30PM

In case you hadn’t noticed, storytelling events have become all the rage, taking place at bars and nightclubs everywhere.

Keep Talking: A Storytelling Show holds monthly events at the Happy Dog in Gordon Square where ordinary people, both experienced storytellers and those who have never stepped up to the mic, are invited to share stories about their lives.

This month’s theme is “My Cleveland,” and storytellers should have a story about a personal experience or memory that reveals something about their relationship to the city, bad or good, funny or depressing, discouraging or uplifting. All stories must be true, not made up.

Potential participants apply in advance for one of the available slots. Send a summary of y our story — beginning, middle and end — to KeepTalkingCLE@gmail.com. A bullet-point summary is fine; you don’t have to go into great detail.

And, in honor of the Cleveland Public Library’s 150th anniversary, this month there will be a second Keep Talking storytelling event at the CPL Collinwood Branch Library on Mon 9/9.

Both events are free and open to the public.
