Magical Theater Company Holds Free Italian-Flavored Street Festival

Fri 9/22 @ 6-9PM

The Magical Theatre Company, based outside Akron in Barberton, produces touring theater designed for audiences of all ages.

Once again, it’s hosting its street festival/benefit, an evening of free fun called Tuscany on Tusc, taking place on Tuscarawas Street in Barberton’s downtown art district.

There’ll be all kinds of food vendors, offering pizza, hot dogs, Italian sandwiches, mac & cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, cannoli and ice cream. In keeping with the Italian theme, the Tuscan Trio will perform traditional Italian music, while street-walking stilt walkers and a replica of The Mouth of Truth will provide colorful backdrop.  Vendors of art, jewelry and handmade crafts will be set up in the street as well. And here’s how you know you’re supposed to bring the kids: there will be face painting!

The Magical Theatre Company will be holding raffles to raise money, including a Bourbon Bonanza raffle with five different bottles of bourbon. However, this year they won’t be selling wine and beer on the street so that people can purchase beverages from the adjacent various taverns, breweries and restaurants and drink them on the street.

The event is free and open to all.
