Women’s Art Show Extended at Bonfoey Gallery

Fri 4/2 @ 10AM-5PM

Through Sat 4/17

Bonfoey Gallery downtown was all set to hold a closing benefit for its current show, Nevertheless She Created, on Friday April 2 so viewer could have a final look at the art created by nine regional woman painters, printmakers, photographers, jewelers and sculptors.

Only now the show isn’t closing until Saturday April 17 so you’ve got plenty of time to get down there — and you should. Standouts include elegant encaustic-based mixed-media images by Susan Squires, Liz Maugins’ print collages that speak to pandemic malaise with a mix of humor and poignancy, and Kristen Cliffel’s narrative ceramic pieces. But all of the work is worth seeing; other artists include Ryn Clarke, Kristen Cliffel, Lane Cooper, Dana Oldfather, Jenniffer Omaitz, Pat Zinsmeister Parker and Pam Pastoric.

You can come down any day the gallery is open to make a donation to their designated charity, the Norma Herr Women’s Center. They’ll also be collecting items from the center’s wish list. Or you can buy one of these spiffy “Nevertheless, She Created” totes with proceeds going to Norma Herr Center.

They’re just asking that you call to schedule an appointment to see the free show so they can control crowd size in the gallery. And please wear a mask.
