Much of Cleveland area photographer Gina Washington’s work deals with family roots and identity, asking (and answering) “who am I?” And, as her bio says, “By working and connecting with artists of all walks of life, Gina wishes to make art accessible to everyone.”
She’ll be reaching out to anyone who wants to participate with her workshop at the Sculpture Center “I AM: Identity in Community.” She’ll be inviting participants to use those words “I am” to delve into their own personal narrative, taking off from a question posed by Cameron Granger in his current show Dream Drop Distance, at the Sculpture Center: “How do we quilt our familial histories into inevitable futures?”
“Plan to ground your energy and express your creative self,” she says. “Group conversation will lead from there.” The workshop is free and open to all. Registration is required; go here.
