The name “Gin Chocolate & Bottle Rockets” caught our eye — a sign that it’s a great band name! In fact, the Madison, Wisconsin ensemble features three woman singer-songwriters, Beth Kille, Shawndell Marks and Ohio native Jennifer Farley. Kille and Marks both had lively solo careers when they met Farley, who had just arrived in town, at a showcase for female performers.
They clicked and soon were rehearsing and putting together sets of their own tunes and as well as covers enhanced by their three-part harmonies and their guitar/piano/percussion instrumentation. They released their debut EP in 2014, followed by a full-length titled Lean earlier this year.
They’ll be coming down to these parts to perform on Nighttown’s Stephens Green Patio (don’t worry — it’s covered and heated!)
