Alto sax player Bobby Selvaggio is one of the veterans and stars of the northeast Ohio jazz scene. Like many Clevelanders, he spent some time in New York City where he earned his master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music and performed in the city’s famed jazz clubs. He later moved back to his hometown where he’s now the Director of Jazz Studies at Kent State University.
He’s never taken a break from recoding and performing, working in many different formats, with different-sized ensembles. His newest is the bass-less Bobby Selvaggio Electric3 where he’s joined by drummer Holbrook Riles III and pianist Joey Skoch to perform original music by all three.
They’ll perform at the BOP STOP. Admission is $15.
