The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park hosts a monthly vent called the “Low Power Happy Hour,” where people who support CVNP can come, get some drinks, learn about an environment-or nature-related issues, and meet some people with similar concerts.
This month the Conservancy’s community engagement director Kimberly LoVano will take about a timely topic: how you can advocate for protecting our national parks and public lands at a time when they’re being targeted for defunding, takeovers by private interests, and despoiling through drilling and mining. They’re share how you can talk to elected officials in both Washington D.C. and Columbus to let them now how much public lands mean to you and your community.
This discussion will deepen your advocacy skills and explore meaningful ways to take action. We’ll discuss how to engage with elected officials, what is happening right now in Washington, DC and the statehouse, and how your voice can make a difference for Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP)!
Doors open at 5 for networking and cocktails. The program starts at 5:30 and is followed by a Q&A, with more cocktails and networking opportunities form 6:30-7PM.
