Welcome the New Year with Some Tobogganing

Wed 12/31 @ noon-5PM

Thu 1/1-Sat 1/3 @ noon-9PM

It’s that time again: the twin toboggan slides at Cleveland Metroparks’ Mill Stream Run Reservation are open for business, and for kids missing the roller coaster thrills of Cedar Point, a trip out here will cure their post-Christmas  blahs.

These 700-foot chutes — the longest chutes in Ohio — have a 70-foot drop and reach speeds of up to 50 miles an hour. They’re refrigerated so they can operate if it gets a little warm — up to 50 degrees — and they’re running in most weather conditions except sub-zero weather and heavy rain. They run weekends through mid-February but of course, this week, they are open Thursday-Saturday, as well as from noon-5pm New Year’s Eve.

Advance reservations are required, which you can make here. It’s an especially good idea to make them early over the holidays when families are all looking for things too. All riders must be at least 42” tall and wear gloves or mittens. You’ll get a timed ticket but once you’re checked in you can keep on tobogganing under close. The Chalet will be open, and there are restrooms and concessions available.
