The nonprofit organization Cornucopia, which runs the healthy foods store Nature’s Bin in Lakewood, has a mission: it trains people with disabilities for jobs in the food service business.
Needless to say, as a nonprofit it’s always fundraising, and that’s what it’s upcoming benefit, Event in the Tent, is about. The dinner features vegan, vegetarian and carnivore selections prepared by its in-house catering while the silent auction will offer a host of packages for guests to bid on. The event not only raises money for its work but also recognizes its vocational training graduates and job placement clients. Tickets are $100 per person and can be ordered here.
