Each year, the Morgan Conservatory, which specializes in paper-based arts, holds a holiday sale featuring the work of its members, who sometimes stretch the meaning of “paper-based” just for this event. Typically you’ll find everything from prints, to elaborate constructions such as artist books, to cards and small notebooks.
The Morgan Maker’s Exhibition will open with a reception where you can meet the artists and partake of some refreshments while browsing work by participating artists Jennifer Leach, Jeanetta Ho, Fran Kovac, Bob Herbst, Jerry Smith, Paula Damm, Paula Zinsmeister, Vicki Ratliff, Rachel Morris, Patricia Brett and Nancy Halbrooks. It’s an “off the wall” exhibition, which mean whatever you buy you can take with you immediately. (It joins several other artist-based organizations in doing such sales, including Zygote Press, just a few minutes’ drive away which will be open from 11am-7pm this day — you can hit both!)
The Morgan Maker’s exhibition will be up through January 6; gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday @ 10am-4pm.
