Final Sustainability Summit Takes Place as Sustainable Cleveland 2019 Winds Up

Thu 9/20-Fri 9/21

Sustainable Cleveland 2019 is coming in for a landing.

Each year has had a theme, and this year — the final one — has been the Year of Vital Neighborhoods. And each year has ended with the Sustainability Summit at Public Hall to take stock of the year past and look ahead at the next one. But this year being the last, that means a lot of wrapping up, assessing impacts and looking ahead at the concluding event on June 22, 2019, the 5th anniversary of the Cuyahoga River fire that helped fuel the passage of the Clean Water Act.

It starts at 2pm Thursday with remarks by Mayor Frank Jackson ad Chief of Sustainability Matt Gray, along with a keynote presentation and awards.

But the real work happens of Friday: a daylong session of brainstorming, sharing and developing action plans around neighborhood and business sustainability, making the Cleveland Climate Action Plan reality, and looking ahead to what can be accomplished by June 22.

Tickets are $20-$50.
