The Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Parma-Powers Branch and the Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society are currently hosting the 2024 Audubon Photography Awards Traveling Exhibition, which will be on view at the library Tuesday September 2 through Monday September 29. beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025, through Monday, September 29, 2025. The library’s gallery will be filled with beautiful images of birds from all over the country, chosen from thousands of entries in the National Audubon Society’s competition. It will also showcase educational bird displays loaned by Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
Celebrating September as Birding Month, the Parma-Powers Library will also hosts a variety of free educational programs about birds for both kids and adults, hosted by naturalists, nature photographers and members of Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society. On Monday September 8, learn birding basics and get started on your own journey as a birder. Learn how to identify birds by color, pattern, size, behavior and habitat and find out what equipment you’ll need. It’s free; go here to register.
