Kent Rocks is a citywide celebration of music with almost 30 regional music acts spanning generations and multiple genres performing at 25 venues across the city of Kent.
You can catch guitarist/singer/songwriter Michael McFarland (pictured) performing his infectious material at the 157 Lounge starting at 7pm or powerful blues-infused vocalist Becky Boyd at the Kent Free Library at 4-5pm. There are legendary veterans such as blues harmonica player Wallace Coleman Brewhouse Pub, 8:30-11pm) and Kent’s own institution, the Numbers Band, which debuted in the summer of 1970, playing their distinctive rock/blues/jazz at the Venice Cafe at 8-10pm and dynamic Taylor Lamborn performing her own memorable material at the Loft Tavern from 5-8pm. You can sit and listen to the emotional and uplifting tunes of Meganne Stepka at the Bistro on Main from 6-9m or have a party with swamp rockers Cats on Holiday at Bell Tower Brewing from 630-9:30pm.
All venues are free for the evening, thanks to the event’s sponsors.
