Painter Maximillan Peralta Shows His Work in Bespoke Setting

Fri 7/31 @ 7PM

Maxmillian Peralta is a Cleveland-based Filipino-American artist and 2021 Cleveland Institute of Art graduate, rapidly becoming known for his intense and striking paintings; he’s among the 61 artists chosen for the Cleveland Museum of Art’s juried show Lake Effect, currently at the Transformer Station. His recent work, he says, “alludes to an atmosphere of tension, insecurity, and fear experienced personally but also often collectively by his generation.”

Now he’s put together an experimental solo show of his work, titled living Room, described as “an experimental exhibition that features an entirely new series of paintings … which depict naturalistic psychological spaces that deal with power and ownership.” They’ll be displayed in an empty, skeletal room comprised entirely of 2 x4 foot wooden studs with no drywall at Foundation Forge at 1557 East 40th Street.

The exhibit opens to the public on Friday July 31 @ 7pm. Go here to register to attend.
