It’s the height of summer, the sun is shining, it’s definitely shorts-and-sundress weather. Well, YOU may be wearing pastels but somewhere there’s a person draped in heavy black garb listening to gloomy music about depressing and suicide. I know I’ve told this story before but I recall being the only person is pink cotton dress at an August concert by the Smiths.
If you’re the person who thinks black is the only appropriate color for July, then Dark Wave Dance Cavem the monthly dance party at the Winchester Music Tavern, is for you. All night hosts/DJs Matthew Darkwave and Mimi Dromette will be spinning the sort of music you used to dance to at the Chamber back in its heyday: goth, industrial, darkwave, post punk, techno, synthpop. And let’s face it: a lot of this music was really classic and continues to influence pop and rock music to this day.
Cover is just $5, or $8 for 18-21. Go HERE for advance tickets (they’re also available at the door) and more info.
