Cleveland Public Theatre’s multi-week play development program presents performance works in the process of moving to full, finished productions. CPT provides the space, some support staff and some promotion and lets the chosen artists do their thing.
It kicks off this week with a pair of plays: Tessa Gaffney’s Uhaulin’ and Molly McFadden’s Parrot Play. The first centers on three couples moving in and out of an apartment complex. The second brings together two college friends and their husbands going over the last 40 years of their lives. “Chaos, confessions, a little weed, and an unruly parrot make for a bizarre and revelatory night as four septuagenarians navigate their next chapter of life,” the synopsis relates.
