Every other week Trinity Cathedral downtown presents its Brownbag Concert, an opportunity to take a break from work (or school if you attend Cleveland State University across the street from Trinity), enjoy the interior of this spectacular building and listen to some topnotch music in a variety of genres — for free.
This week, the Cleveland Composers Guild, which has been supporting northeast Ohio composers producing new music for more than 60 years, will be offering a variety of new chamber music pieces by composers Nicholas Puin, Ryan Charles Ramer, William Hermanowski, Inna Onofrei, Matthew C. Saunders, Margi Griebling-Haig, and Owen Axelberd, the winner of its 2025 Collegiate Composition Contest.
Among the musicians performing are violinists Ariel Karas and Amelia Korbitz, violist Brian Slawta, cellists Gayle Klaber, Trevor Kazarian and Jeff Singler, pianists Jungyu Xu, Maggie Johns and Megan Denman, oboist Terry Orcutt, trumpeter Amanda Bekeny, tubist Christopher Blaha, and soprano Lauren Giles.
The concert is free and open to all. No reservation is required.
