Author Talks About Nature and Healing at Nature Center at Shaker Lakes

Wed 7/22 @ 5-8PM

Each Wednesday evening throughout the summer the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes holds a special program with a different theme each week.

This week it’s a book talk with poet/author Jarod Anderson, sponsored by Loganberry Books. But it does have something to do with nature: the book in question is his newly release Something in the Woods Loves You. It’s described as “An inspiring blend of nature writing and memoir that explores nature’s crucial role in our emotional and mental health. Bats can hear shapes, plants can eat light, and bees can dance maps.”

Anderson will read an excerpt from his book and lead a discussion on how nature can help you address your mental health, something he did when he was going through a difficult time with his depression. He’ll also talk about how you too can write about nature. Presumably Loganberry will have books available for purchase and signing.

It’s free, although there’s a suggested $5 donation. Registration is required. Go here.
