Guitar aficionados will want to head down to Canton for the weekend, maybe book a hotel and spend three days, when Kent State University at Stark presents its second annual Guitar Weekend, a three-day festival for guitar enthusiasts, 11/16-18.
The free public event features guitarists from around the country performing a variety of styles. Among the perfromers are classical guitarist Mickey Jones, who is both a solo guitarist and chamber musician as well as an educator; up-and-coming young jazz guitarist from New York Nir Felder; Candian classical guitarist Stephen Lochbaum who is also an accomplished jazz musician; and French virtuoso Judicaël Perroy.
The event also includes a schedule of workshops and master classes led by these musicians. All events take place at KSU stark’s Main Auditorium, except Thursay night’s concert at the Canton Museum of Art.
