The Towpath Trail lantern parade embraces a variety of positive ideas: creativity, recycling and the opportunity to get outside and take a walk on what will hopefully be a nice day that looks ahead to spring (currently the forecast is for warmish, rainy weather.)
Create a battery-powered lantern of some type and then join a gaggle of local artists who will be bringing their own, made from recycled materials that celebrate nature and environmental activism. Gather at the Overlook beside the former Sokolowski’s restaurant on Abbey Avenue in Tremont; there’s plenty of parking just across the street. The 1.6 mile roundtrip walk along the Towpath Trail will begin and end at the Overlook.
The event is free and family-friendly.
