Holland Andrews takes fragile and sparse textures and builds upon them through looped layers, spiraling them into thick woven sound in her alterego project Like a Villain. Embracing the minimalist sensibilities of 20th and 21st-century avant-garde composers, Andrews uses various instruments to provide a sonic background for her vocal virtuosity, resulting in something new and strange and resoundingly beautiful.

Supporting acts include Akron experimental musician HolyKindOf, who crafts “somber and dissonant non-linear music” through analog synthesizers, hand-built effects pedals, and acoustic instruments. Plus Cleveland’s one-woman choir Uno Lady (aka Christa Ebert) performs her layered effects of “haunting, serene, and beautiful” music using her voice.

It’s $5-7 cash at the door.
