Beck Center Red Stage Series Presents Two Local Indie Solo Artists, Mike Uva & Uno Lady

Wed 8/10 @ 6-8PM

While there are certainly a lot of free outdoor summer concert series that feature tribute bands and cover acts, one of the great things about Cleveland is how many of them don’t.

Case in point: the Beck Center’s Red Stage series, which takes place on an outdoor stage in front of the building. This evening, for example, you can catch two indie-type acts known for the distinctive music they create all by themselves. Uno Lady creates her music by electronically looping her own voice — her only instrument — which she layers over and over to create billows of sound that coalesce into infectious tunes. Mike Uva writes casual, conversational tunes that are insinuating rather than insistent with melodies that almost seem to catch you unaware. He’ll perform with a four-piece band but it’s hard to imagine him being overbearing.

Red Stage events also include interactive arts activities and food and refreshments, including beer, for sale. In case of rain, it takes place indoors in the main gallery.
