Local nonprofit rescue group Ferrets Unlimited is a no-kill rescue that specializes in these slinky, playful creatures the ignorant sometimes call “weasels.” They take in ferrets who have become homeless, make sure they have medical care and proper training and find new and better homes for them.
Their annual Ferrets by the Lake is one of their main fundraisers to help pay for the services their all-volunteer members provide. It includes a chance to met (and fall in love with) some of their ferrets, information on adoption, fostering and sponsorship, a veterinary speaker, raffles, sale items and light refreshments
It takes place at Paws by the Lake, 33757 Lake Road, Avon Lake (across from Avon Lake Animal Clinic). Go here for more info.
