Fri 10/26 @ 9PM
There aren’t many fans of local music who don’t know Carlos Jones. His effusively sunny reggae is a staple of Cleveland’s summertime festivals and special events. He and his P.LU.S. Band (standing for “Peace, Love and Unity Syndicate”) have been setting audiences spinning, weaving, flowing and gyrating for more than two decades — full time since the breakup of Jones’ previous band First Light who for 13 years reigned as the area’s most popular and biggest drawing act.
He’ll be at the Grog Shop with another, newer band that also makes music designed to fill a dance floor with blessed-out movers: Daddy Longlegs Homegrown Revival. Led by singer Davidione Pearl, it blends a potpourri of musical styles, both American (soul, gospel, zydeco) and global (reggae, Afrofunk, Latin).
Tickets are $10 in advance, $14 at the door.
