Beck Center’s Youth Theatre Presents “Zombie Comedy” Set at Shakespeare’s Theatre

Fri 3/3-Sun 3/12

Beck Center’s youth theater debut a fun new production his week: a “zombie comedy” titled William Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead. The plot centers on the “true and accurate account of the 1599 Zombie Plague” which is of course entirely fictitious. It seems that a plague of zombies threatens to overrun Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. The theater is quarantined as the company’s survivors right for their lives. Hilarity ensues.

Director Dusten Welch, says, “[Playwright John] Heimbuch masterfully combines the play’s fun and witty dialogue with a sense of pure campy humor straight out of classic zombie flicks. With all of the Shakespearean quotes amidst a zombie ridden landscape, William Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead is the perfect fit for anyone who loves history, sword fighting, and zombies.”

Performances run Friday-Sunday through March 12 in Beck’s Studio Theater. For tickets and more information go to beckcenter.org/youth-theater.
