The Ballroom Thieves — guitarist Martin Earley, percussionist Devin Mauch and cellist Calin Peters — have folk roots and a blues vibe and a pop sensibility. The Boston-based threesome grew out of Earley and Mauch’s dorm-room experimentation, adding Peters three years ago.
Since then they’ve been spending time on the road, growing together and honing their songwriting. That’s now led to their first full-length album, A Wolf in the Doorway, featuring 12 songs they describe as a “mélange of acoustic styles.” The group is returning to Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall as part of its Voices in the Valley series. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
