The monthly Dark Wave Dance Cave at the Winchester Music Tavern is back, for all of your spiked-and-studded, black-lipstick-and-nail-polish-wearing Robert Smith wannabes. Get your best goth/punk/post-punk gear on and come listen, sway and maybe even dance as hosts/DJs Mimi Dromette and Matthew Darkstar spin a mix of classics and obscurities from the 80s and 90s heyday of “dark” music and beyond. And with this being Pride Month, there’ll be an emphasis on LGBTQ+ artists.
There’ll be a little something extra this month too: Chicago’s Mode Brutale will be there with some of their new and unreleased designs. The one-woman woman company uses industrial, often recycled, materials to create unisex pieces including jewelry, belts, corsets, harnesses, chains and jackets with goth/industrial vibes they describe as “darkly provocative.” They’ll be raffling off a Mode Brutale “Bl00d B1tch” necklace so come on down and enter. Get tickets here or pay at the door.
