Don’t write of a trip to the year-round indoor Coit Road Farmers Market just because it’s the dead of winter. Of course you won’t find the array of fresh produce its farmers bring in the summer and fall. But you’ll still find long-storing root vegetables (onions, carrots, turnips, potatoes), squash, pumpkins, greens, apples, cheese, meats, bakery, milled grains and dried beans.
If using those beans — which are healthy for you! — to make tasty dishes perplexes you, this is the week to come because from 11am-12:30pm, there will be a demonstration on selecting, soaking and prepping different varieties of beans and how to use them in your cooking. And it’s free.
