West Side chocoholics will certainly recognize the name of Lakewood’s Sweet Designs Chocolatier, which has been providing high-quality specialty chocolates to area aficionados for 25 years.
Sweet Designs owner Ines Rehner has quite a story to tell of growing up in the former Yugoslavia while nurturing a dream to move to the U.S. and start her own candy store. She arrived in New York at the age of 24 and began to work in the business, experimenting with her own creations on the side. A visit to relatives in Cleveland convinced her that this was the place to fulfill her dream.
She’ll tell her story to PNC’s Elena Ray in an online program presented by the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage. Admission is $5, free for Maltz member. Register here.
